‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) Brings Tension
When Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) returned to Genoa City, Kyle Abbot was shocked to find his mother was still alive. That shock turned to apprehensive joy. He felt worried that something bad would happen and she would disappear again. He was willing to give her a chance though.
Summer was immediately more skeptical of Diane. She saw how much Kyle had to endure thinking his mother was dead. She also heard accusations from her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) about what a terrible person Diane is. This influenced her too to some extent.
It was difficult, but they worked to try to put their relationship first and not let their feelings about one another’s mothers impact their relationship. It caused some tension and stress, but they worked hard to get on the same page. This was made a bit easier, as Summer saw how outrageous her own mother was being. She began to doubt the veracity of her mother’s claims.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Greater Split
Now the situation is even worse. Phyllis faked her death convincingly with the help of Jeremy Stark (James Hyde). There was evidence planted against Diane and she was set up quite well to take the fall. Diane has been arrested.
Kyle believes that the charges are bogus. He knows that his mother could never do something like this. He wants Summer to see that. Kyle believes Stark is completely responsible.
Summer for her part, can’t believe that she did not listen to her mother’s warnings. She feels responsible for the results because she didn’t take her mother seriously. She believes that all of it was Diane’s fault and she wants to see her punished.
This is going to serve to tear apart Kyle and Summer’s marriage. They disagree about who is responsible and who should be held accountable. Because of this, they are going to struggle to make it through together. Do you think that their marriage is going to survive this situation?
