Long Island Medium: “I Did Not See This Coming”, Season 14, Episode 7 - Theresa Caputo Surprises Aline and Charlie!

This is an episode full of surprises, and the added element of shock only adds to the emotional pull of the stories featured. First up, Theresa surprises a woman named Aline. Her husband Charlie set up the reading, hoping to for Theresa to connect with their daughter, Maddie. Theresa and her hair arrive at Aline’s place of work in order to really catch Aline by surprise, but she was admittedly underwhelmed by all the hullabaloo. Despite her calm veneer, Aline had 8 different “accomplices” write in on her behalf, so we know this reading will be a special one.

During the reading, Theresa immediately picks up on the fact that Maddie, their daughter, died young and was an “old soul.” We learn first that Charlie’s dad—who had passed long before Maddie died—was there to welcome her in the afterlife. We also learn that Maddie suffered with a rare form of cancer, beat it once, and then it came back “with a vengeance.” Theresa validated their daughter’s wish that her life was one of “quality over quantity.” At the end of the emotional session, Theresa unveils another surprise for Aline-a day of pampering to come!

For the next surprise, Theresa travels to see a group of women who had gathered, expecting a TV crew to discuss the anniversary of Super Storm Sandy. You can tell by the squeals and screams that the surprise was a success! Immediately, Theresa validates that the parents of two of the women are present, but no longer suffering, much to their relief. Eventually, Theresa is able to channel a mutual friend of all the women, named Cathy, who had passed from cancer. Although she’s been gone from the physical world for over a year, Theresa was able to reassure her loyal group of friends that Cathy is still very much with them and appreciative of all the big and small ways they remember her still.

The last surprise was facilitated by a special pair of accomplices—Theresa’s parents! Theresa’s dad is lovingly known as being uncomfortable with her gift. And Theresa’s mom does not like the camera whatsoever. Prior to the reading for their friends, Theresa herself has a little moment of nerves in the car and has to stop to compose herself! During the reading, Theresa learns her little attack in the car was actually more telling of the loved one she was about to channel rather than her own nerves, who died from a seizure while driving. And this moment was a gift to her parents who were so worried about his last moments. By reassuring them that he didn’t die in pain, Theresa was able to alleviate some of their grief.

The episode ends with the make over of Aline—the mom from the first surprise reading! It was so sweet to see her being pampered and treated like the strong special lady she is! Her new look was well received by all her friends and family.

    B. Novak is and has always been a soap opera lover. He was first introduced to the world of soaps when his mom used to watch them when he was a kid in French. Yes, in French! That's how he first discovered the wickedly delicious beauty of the sinuous storylines that make the soap opera world. He had to take a break for some time due to other life commitments but he's back to watching Soap Operas and looks forward to writing about them each and every day.
