Michael Irvin sued the woman who had accused him of misbehavior for $100 million, claiming she was “railroading” him with unfounded claims that were damaging his career. Irvin claims his hotel devised a scheme to make him the next victim of “cancel culture” over an incident he claims never happened.

“Rash and thoughtless actions can have severe consequences. Marriott [parent company of Renaissance Hotels] apparently did not appreciate these simple truths when, in a rush to judgment, its employees and management inaccurately and inflammatorily accused Mr. Irvin of misconduct to the National Football League,” the lawsuit reads.

Irvin initially claimed that he “casually exchanged pleasantries” with the employee (“Jane Doe”), “shook her hand, and walked to his room alone,” which was corroborated by witnesses (seen in the above photo), according to the lawsuit. However, after learning about the charges, Irvin and his team claim they made an effort to give the Renaissance Hotel witness accounts in an effort to clear up any misunderstandings, but they claim the hotel declined to do so.

Levi McCathern, Irvin’s attorney says that “It is clear Michael is the latest victim of our cancel culture where all it takes is an accusation to ruin a person’s life. Michael looks forward to clearing his name in court and hopes the Court of public opinion will see the truth come out as well.”

Naturally, a hotel employee who had a brief encounter with 56-year-old Irvin Sunday night complained about his alleged behavior, and Irvin was fired from NFL Network’s Super Bowl coverage. The details of the accuser’s claims are still unknown to the general public. Irvin, one of the most well-known sports media figures, was going to be the face of NFLN and ESPN’s Super Bowl coverage.
