Princess Eugenie is pregnant and of course, everyone is so happy and excited over the new royal baby news. However, there are some people out there who can’t help but already wonder who might be the new godparents to the little tot with some people pointing their fingers at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Here’s what you need to know.
Just this morning Princess Eugenie shared a family photograph of her son August kissing her bump to announce the news. In the photograph, taken by Mr Brooksbank, Eugenie, dressed in a wooly hat, beams as August, in a burgundy winter hat, matching trousers and wellies, embraces her and kisses her bump, as they stand next to a fence in a leaf-strewn field.

Eugenie wrote: “We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer.” Of course, it didn’t take long at all for both royal fans and critics alike to wonder if Harry and Meghan will be a part of the tot’s life. After all, Princess Eugenie is very close with her royal cousin, Harry. In fact, she might be the only member of the royal family that is still talking to him on a daily basis.
Some comments included, “Wouldn’t it be grand if Harry and Meghan would be the godparents? I’m happy for them. Eugenie is a sweet cousin of my Sussex fam. A girl hopefully, this way Lili gets to have a real sister just like Archie already has a brother with August,” along with, “She has to be the most down to earth member of that family. And the fact she stands behind Harry is fantastic. Congratulations to one and only true nice ROYAL member of that family Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack for this lovely news!”
Another fan wrote, “Congratulations the only princess from that side with a caring heart. A baby girl will be wonderful for Lilibeth’s sake. It would be nice if Harry and Meghan could be the godparents. That would really show the rest of the royal family where they stand.”
