Prince Harry has described his choice to dress up in a Nazi uniform as “probably one of the biggest mistakes of my life”.
In January 2005, the Duke of Sussex attended a friend’s fancy dress-themed birthday party in a Nazi uniform, complete with a swastika armband. “It was probably one of the biggest mistakes in my life. I felt so ashamed afterward,” the prince said.

Harry continued, “All I wanted to do was make it right. I sat down spoke to the Chief Rabbi in London, which had a profound impact on me. I went to Berlin and spoke to a Holocaust survivor. I could have just ignored it and gone on and made the same mistakes over and over again in my life. But I learned from that.”
At the time, Harry said in a statement, “I am very sorry if I caused any offense or embarrassment to anyone. It was a poor choice of costume and I apologize.”
Harry also talked about “unconscious bias” in the royal family, something that he said Meghan taught him about.
“In this family, sometimes you’re part of the problem, rather than part of the solution,” Harry, now 38, continued. “There is a huge level of unconscious bias. The thing with unconscious bias is it’s actually no one’s fault, but once it’s been pointed out or identified within yourself, you then need to make it right.”
What’s more, the duke also said members of his family questioned why Meghan needed more protection from the media than their wives had been given, but that they failed to grasp the “race element.”
In the first installment, Meghan claims “salacious stories” were “planted” in the lead-up to their wedding, with the couple “playing whack-a-mole” as the articles appeared. The duchess also describes her first meeting with the Prince and Princess of Wales, saying she was surprised at the “formality” of the royal family behind closed doors.
In addition, both Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace confirmed they did receive an email purporting to be from a third-party production company from an unknown organization’s address and attempted to verify its authenticity with Archewell Productions and Netflix, but never received a response.
