You know, they say that sometimes when you want something done right you have to do it yourself. We don’t know for certain yet, but the way Gwendolyn Christie AKA Brienne if Tarth formerly of Game of Thrones talks, Kit Harington may have just taken that old saying to heart.

It would seem that Harington and the producers at HBO along with George R.R. Martin have been working in tandem ever since the original Game of Thrones ended to produce the sequel, a show that will focus on Jon Snow after the events of Game of Thrones. This is good news for Game of Thrones fans, specifically those that want to know what their favorite characters from the original series are doing.

It’s also good news for HBO because as we all know House of the Dragon did extremely well for them and put the Game of Thrones franchise back on the map, which was needed after the season 8 finale which left a lot of us lacking. (And wondering just what on earth happened, for those of us who didn’t watch it in 4K, ahem.)

The 10 episode delve into the Targaryen reign of Westeros which happened a few hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones, has introduced us to a lot of new characters and gotten us very well (and rather uncomfortably) acquainted with the Targaryen tradition of keeping marriage “in the family”, looks like that won’t be a problem in the Job Snow series.

Why? Because, well, spoilers abound but Danaerys, who was his aunt and for the latter part of the season Paramore, is dead now. Considering how she left things in Westeros that’s probably for the better. When we left off with the series, Bran was king, Jon had gone north of the wall after the death of Dany, Tyrion was in King’s Landing still after the death of his older siblings and Tywin, and things were pretty well quiet in Westeros.

But not to worry, according to Gwendolyn Christie, who played Brienne of Tarth, Kit Harington has been hard at work these past few years along with the producers of HBO to give the fandom what they want.

When asked if her character would make an appearance on the series, Christie said, “That’ll depend on if Kit Harington remembers quite how many favors he asked of me, and if the writing is any good.

I do believe he’s doing it himself.” to which she let out a laugh, okay maybe Kit had some help in that department, after all unless you’re the show runner to Dynasty it’s rare that a show only employs one writer as opposed to an entire team these days, but perhaps Harington did have a good bit of creative say so in the series.

Also there was a pandemic so who knows maybe he accomplished the impossible and wrote an entire HBO series. All we know right now is that he is heavily involved in the production. Stay tuned!!!
