Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, acquired a new superpower when he was named “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine in 2022. Evans received the magazine’s prestigious honor and the corresponding cover, the publication revealed Monday night.
The 41-year-old actor unseats Paul Rudd, a fellow Avenger and champion from the previous year. Before Rudd was formally introduced as the winner last year, Evans was thought to have won, stunning many fans.

According to Evans, his pals will make fun of him for the title, but his mother will be proud of her son’s accomplishment. “Really this will just be a point of bullying,” Evans joked in an interview with People. “It’s ripe for harassment. My mom will be so happy,” he said. “She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.”
His mother Lisa said to People that she wasn’t at all surprised that her attractive son was named the sexiest guy alive. If he discovered his fate, Evans claimed his middle school self would be “pumped.”
Evans was confident about his new honor, but he also felt modest. “This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about,” he told People with a laugh. “It feels like a weird form of humble bragging.”
Evans gained notoriety for his portrayal of the superhero Johnny Storm in the 2005 and 2007 “Fantastic Four” films. But when he played the title character of “Captain America: The First Avenger” in 2011, his career really took off. In ten Marvel movies, starting with “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019, he played the same part again. The native of Massachusetts continues the legacy of earlier superhero movie stars like Rudd, Reynolds, and Chris Hemsworth. Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Richard Gere, Channing Tatum, and David Beckham are some other famous sexy men from the past.
