Post Malone abruptly postponed his Boston performance just before it started, citing pain that appeared to be lingering from his fall a week earlier. A few hours before he was set to perform at the TD Garden on Saturday night, the singer announced the news on social media, explaining that he had experienced severe side pain that necessitated another trip to the hospital.

He went to Twitter to announce the cancellation saying, “Boston, I love y’all so f–king much. On tour, I usually wake up around 4 o’clock PM, and today I woke up to a cracking sound on the right side of my body. I felt so good last night, but today it felt so different than it has before. I’m having a very difficult time breathing, and there’s like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move.”

The singer went on to say that he was back in the hospital and apologized for having to cancel the show, “We’re in the hospital now, but with this pain, I can’t do the show tonight. I’m so fucking sorry. Everyone’s tickets for tonight’s show will be valid for the reschedule that we’re planning right now. I feel terrible, but I promise I’m going to make this up to you. I love you Boston, I’ll see you soon. I’m so sorry. -Love, Austy.”

It sounded like there was a lot of confusion (and frustration) going on at the arena, as multiple reporters said that large numbers of people are now leaving after learning from security that Post Malone had postponed the show as they waited to enter.

Since falling through a hole on stage last weekend and breaking a few of his ribs, he has continued to perform. Post Malone later assured fans that he would be fine and would soon resume his tour, but it appears that he is not yet fully recovered.
