Will Smith has publicly apologized for slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars for the first time, and it is obvious that he is ashamed and regretful of his actions. In a Facebook post, Smith apologized for his actions and responded to queries from fans about the shocking incident.
Smith claims that he reacted violently on his own because he thought Rock’s joke was demeaning and disrespectful, not because Jada Pinkett Smith rolled her eyes at it. He also made it clear that there was “history” between him and Chris Rock, and it was obviously not good.

As for why he didn’t apologize to Chris, he says he reached out but Chris wasn’t ready to talk to him, but he apologized in the new video. The 2 haven’t spoken since the Oscars.

Whether or not Chris Rock will respond to Will and actually sit down to talk is still up for debate. Though, to be honest, I think Chris will sit down as he seems like a forgiving man.
