Carlos wants nothing more than to be honest with his friends and family about his sexuality. He is extremely nervous to tell his sister that he is gay because he is unsure of how she will react. He tells the cameras, “This is a big deal for me because I’m planning to tell my sister that I’m homosexual. I have never talked about my sexual preference with members of my family.”

Before he talks to his family, he decides that he needs to spend time with Valentine, who is open about his sexuality. They are in Columbia for the time being and trying to decide if this relationship is going to work for them. Valentine wants to meet his sister so that they can announce their relationship. Carlos says, “I don’t want her to leave us at the table without talking to us.”
Carlos’ family is very conservative and according to him, they are close-minded. This is the main reason that he has never told them that he was gay. Carlos feels that his family is the most important thing in his life right now and he does have some regrets about not letting them in when it comes to talking about his sexuality.
He feels that he has to tell his sister about his relationship with Valentine because he needs to be honest with her. If she accepts him for who he is, he will be very happy with that, but he isn’t so sure what she will do.
We are pretty nervous for Carlos as well. We really hope that his family can show their love for him and accept his relationship with Valentine. This is a very intense situation and we have seen this before on other reality shows. Fans of Love in Paradise want to see Valentine and Carlos make it, but without the acceptance from his family, Carlos may have to choose a different path.
