After several reports indicated on Tuesday that the NBC network was looking to pull the plug on the hit daytime television show, fans from all over the world responded by expressing their shock, disappointment, and in some cases anger on social media. Here’s what you need to know!
According to TV Line, the ‘Days of Our Lives’ cast was released from their contracts, which sparked a bevy of hot rumors and reports that suggested the actors were getting fired from the soap. Because there was such little information given, many fans assumed that this meant it was the end for Days!

Some of the comments from life-long ‘Days of Our Lives’ viewers included, “Tell me that this is not true! While I don’t like the whole time jump story line, I’ve been watching ‘Days of Our Lives’ since I was a little girl, with my mom. This is horrible news,” along with, “They can’t do this to the fans! I will never stop watching ‘Days of Our Lives’. I look forward to it everyday. Someone tell me that this is fake news.” Another fan wrote, “So what are they going to do? Replace it with yet another hour of The Today Show? Or maybe another reality television show? This is getting ridiculous. Leave Days alone.”
Meanwhile, many ‘Days of Our Lives’ stars took to their social media accounts to clear up the confusion and set the record straight on their ends, too. Actor Chandley Massey, who plays Will Horton on the hit soap, tweeted out, “We are not being cancelled. We are pausing production because we are so far ahead of schedule (and it saves us money). ‘Days’ will still air during the entire hiatus, so you won’t miss a thing!”
So far the NBC network has not made any official comments about the hiatus or when they plan on filming again. Either way, we will definitely update you with all of the latest information as it comes in.
