‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers find that November 12, 2019 will live in infamy – at least in the history of soaps. It was reported by TVLine and TMZ that all of the cast of ‘Days of Our Lives’ had been released from their contracts and the show was as good as done for and there would be no more ‘Days of Our Lives’ until March, even after their epic new time jump story line. The entire internet soap fandom was led to believe that there was going to be a hiatus at the end of the month and that there was no renewal in sight. Now, I’ll admit that even us at Daily Soap Dish were worried, there was a time when we didn’t have that much information and we thought the show was in peril.
Days of Our Lives NOT Getting Cancelled, Actors NOT Fired – Camila Banus (Gabi Hernandez DiMera) & Chandler Massey (Will Horton) Set the Record Straight!
But fear not! According to both Chandler Massey (Will Horton) and Camila Banus (Gabi Hernandez Dimera), they have both taken to twitter to assure us that the sudser has not been cancelled! Chandler Massey says on his twitter, “We’re not being cancelled. We are pausing production because we are so far ahead of schedule (and it saves us $). Days will still air during the entire hiatus, so you won’t miss anything!” In fact, it would seem that they’re ahead of their filming schedule and that is why they’re taking their hiatus a little bit early this year.

Camila Banus posted a live video to twitter and on it she, in a very Gabi DiMera-like spitfire fashion, corrected these articles as well saying that the news about everyone being released from their contract was “Fake BS” and that she had been getting phone calls and all kinds of contacts all day asking her for the truth on the matter. She again, repeated what Chandler Massey had said before and that no one was getting released from their contract, but they were far ahead in their filming schedule so they just decided to take their usual hiatus about 2 weeks earlier than normal. The show is not ending, they’re just halting production at the end of November and not say, in mid-December.
‘Days of Our Lives’ News: Fans Slow your roll
NBC and Sony are in negotiations right now for renewal, so that could have caused some of the confusion. Also halting production after the time jump story line had some worried that they were just going to halt production altogether because it was such a monumental shift in the lives of the characters and to cut it all off then seemed like really strange timing. All soaps take hiatuses for the holidays. They usually take them around Christmas, as Camila said, but the thing is, they’re usually not publicized. People don’t really know when soaps take their breaks. Up until this very article, I didn’t know anything about a soap’s actual filming schedule so, that was an interesting bit of information to learn.
As it turns out, soaps are filmed about 8 months in advance. So anything you’re seeing on-screen right now was probably filmed in March, and that is when production is planned to resume. (Yes, there are plans to resume production provided the show is picked up for another season.) Now, disaster could definitely still strike, we aren’t declaring yay or nay on DOOL definitively yet because that seems to be a problem right now and we here at DSD don’t want to contribute to any misinformation going around, but so far no one on the show has said anything to the effect of cancellation.

This could very well be a case of jumping the gun. We’ll keep you informed of whatever happens to DOOL and the Salemites. Stay tuned!!!
