The horrific shooting in New York City that left nearly two dozen people injured has already seemingly disappeared from headlines around the United States. In Australia though, they’re perplexed as to why, and they may have a point about what’s happening.

As we found out, the man responsible for the subway massacre was Frank James, a disturbed man who would often post videos ranting about how white people were evil and only saw blacks as slaves. His racist tirades would continue on for several minutes, even saying that whites and blacks should never live together.

James, a black man, went out and dropped smoke bombs and fired his weapon, injuring many, but thankfully killing none. Why has this story disappeared so quickly when stories like Kyle Rittenhouse lasted nearly two years?

“When a crime is committed by someone with progressive values, the media is “suddenly uninterested,” says Sky News host Rita Panahi. “

Why Has The New York Subway Mass Shooting Disappeared From Headlines?

Sky News Australia reporter Rita Panahi had a great segment where she brought up all of the terrible mass shooters and killers in recent memory that hardly received any press, and she believes it is because they didn’t fit the ‘white alt-right’ narrative that the left wing media drives home.

They’re not going to cover stories that make their side look bad, so while they have to acknowledge they happened, they’re not going to go into long op-ed pieces about how and why these people did what they did. Because they weren’t angry white men who were right wing, but instead people of color who touted Black Lives Matter and checked all the boxes for the left.

Sadly, this feels true. We may not want to realize it, but we’re seeing more of it everyday. These news companies are shielding us from one side, while smashing the other and spending exorbitant amounts of time doing so.

Frank James will disappear into the mist with the rest of the names, meanwhile, we will all know Kyle Rittenhouse and Nick Sandmann forever.

What do you think? Do you agree with the reporter and how can we turn this news cycle around to focus on stories like this? Let us know in the comments below.
