Putin just thought he was going to get away with censoring his people against news of the war in Ukraine. Clearly, he has not dealt with the hacking skills of the organization Anonymous before, because he just got played.
According to Twitter and the Kyiv Independent, Anonymous took over “Russia 24”, “Moscow 24”, “Channel 1” and even streaming services Wink, and Ivi. He’s getting hit from all sides in this war and soon all of his people whether he likes it or not is going to see full footage of the Ukraine invasion and know exactly what is going on.
Anonymous takes over Russian TV
Knowledge is power, and it seems that would be the one thing that a man like Putin doesn’t want to lose. However, the times are different than they were back in the days of Putin’s Soviet Union. Clearly he misjudged and miscalculated the information age by a mile and if he thought he was simply going to censor his way into the hearts of his people then he has another thing coming.
Sooner or later they’re going to figure out why international businesses are pulling out of Russia and why no one in Russia can get Starbucks anymore or why their athletes can’t compete in other countries or simply why their Ukranian neighbors are giving them dirty looks.
They’re going to know
And sooner or later, Putin’s legacy will end. It may end with all of Russia’s soldiers willingly laying down their arms and just going back home, but that seems like far too utopic an ending. Speculation has been saying that there are a few Russian Oligarchs conspiring against Putin, but we really can’t confirm or deny those claims.
Although if someone was conspiring against him to overthrow him and take him out of power, then… it can’t be a bad thing, right? Or at least not as bad as what’s happening right now. For now, we can sit back and giggle in glee along with the hackers of Anonymous, because it looks like they knew how to hit Putin where it hurts. Stay tuned!!!
