In a shocking move, Taraji P. Henson, who portrayed Jussie Smollet’s mother in the show ‘Empire’, has come out in defense of her co-star by making a false and dumb comparison. She invoked Emmett Till’s case to try to describe what’s happening to Jussie.

She took to Instagram to post a photo that simply read the hashtag #FreeJussie. Henson claims that she’s not debating you on his innocence but that the punishment does not fit the crime. She then goes in to describe what happened to Emmett Till, who was brutally beaten and murdered.

The ‘Empire’ actress claims that because no one was hurt in Jussie’s case and he had already “lost everything” he shouldn’t be punished. We’re sorry celebrities, but when you break the law… this is what happens. I know it’s a strange concept to you.

“I am not here to debate you on his innocence but we can agree that the punishment does not fit the crime. Emmett Till was brutally beat and ultimately murdered because of a lie and none of the people involved with his demise spent one day in jail, even after Carolyn Bryant admitted that her claims were false. No one was hurt or killed during Jussie’s ordeal. He has already lost everything, EVERYTHING!”

Sorry Taraji, it doesn’t matter that “he can’t get a job. No one in Hollywood will hire him and again as an artist who loves to create, that is prison.” I’m an ‘artist who loves to create’ as well. I created a gaming magazine and if I committed a crime, guess what, I would have to serve jail time.

Honestly, 150 days is nothing for what he did. He lied to the police, to the media, to his own friends and family, hired people to stage a hate crime, and then claims that he’s being punished because he’s black. Everything the man has said is a complete lie. So when you lie to the police and falsify a report, you go to jail.

Boy, it sure is crazy that Hollywood doesn’t understand that you can’t just break the law all the time and get away with it.
