‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Robert Newman began his reign as Ashland Locke today and for me, seemed to step into the role beautifully. He quickly become the character and immediately held his own against the likes of Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) in one of his first scenes on the show.
For his first day, fans had plenty to say about his performance. Their reactions are below as well as Y&R’s Instagram post welcoming Robert Newman to the cast.

For the most part, it looks like viewers are enjoying Newman as Ashland, with a few outliers that aren’t fans.
