‘Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) Spoilers finds that lately, Jacqueline MacInness Wood sat down to discuss how different filming scenes for B&B were while pregnant. “Steffy folded a lot of clothes last year.” she said, speaking about how the blocking was used on B&B in order to hide her little bun in the oven.

Usually in sitcoms and other scripted TV shows, actresses hide behind large props, such as laundry baskets or large purses. There was even a case of using actual people to block a pregnant star’s belly in the case of an episode of Seinfeld, where Julia Louis Dreyfus was expecting and they used the other three main characters, Jerry, George, and Kramer, to block her pregnant belly from view.

B&B hasn’t ventured into ‘human shield’ territory yet, but Jacqueline says that having to memorize her lines and be aware of where her belly was at all times presented a fun little challenge for her. However, pregnant or not, that didn’t keep her from absolutely rocking Steffy Forrester‘s fashion show! She actually walked the runway, and while there had to be some clever camera angles involved and a few edits to keep everyone in the B&B audience from knowing, she couldn’t exactly hide her bump from anyone on the set. In fact, she says of the incident “That ended up being how I announced it.”

Let’s just give our girl Jacqueline a round of applause for having the absolute guts to announce that Steffy Forrester was pregnant on-set by slipping into some sexy lingerie! That’s certainly one way of doing things! In a decade past, Jacqueline might have been hard pressed to do this because employers, especially on acting jobs, weren’t always kind when actresses announced that they were pregnant.
But thankfully the cast, crew, and producers at B&B seem to be amazingly chill about this sort of thing. B&B was even cool enough about her maternity leave so that he character was off in Paris for while instead of just being replaced by another actress unceremoniously. (As someone who lived through 1980’s soaps I remember the emotional whiplash of this phenomena.)
