‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) has been back in Genoa City for a bit now, but fans aren’t thrilled with the handling of his traumatic experience and PTSD. While he’s been struggling and having survivor’s guilt, it seems very disingenuous and he should not have given up his child and family.
It’s his responsibility to be there for Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Dominic, and he’s failed. Ironically, when Dominic went to Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) for the night, Chance sat around on the coach peacefully reading while Abby paced the house.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Fans Are Upset With The Handling Of Chance Chancellor’s (Connor Floyd) PTSD Storyline – “Very Insulting!”
This entire storyline isn’t fitting well with fans at all, but in particular how it seems to be disrespectful to our real servicemen and women. Viewers wrote, “For Chance PTSD storylines is very insulting to the real Military who served, came home with traumatized and to top it off he can’t take care his son? Our servicemen had to deal with their struggle. This storylines should give him help, not taking his child and portrayed him as he can’t take care his family. Very insulting!” and “The new Chance fits the sissy the writers have made him. I can’t imagine the old Chance behaving like this. I hope the writers have Chance grow a pair and get their baby back”.
It’s hard to imagine the writers pulling themselves out of this one, but I have a suggestion. Quit making everyone so unrealistic and have some sort of semblance to reality. Even when people were getting shot and houses blowing up back in the day, it was at least more believable than this crap.
