Talk about more than just a little awkward. There’s a new report that says should Prince Harry and Meghan Markle find their way back across the pond and in London anytime soon, the last place that the Duchess of Sussex will want to crash at, is at her father-in-law Prince Charles’ estate. Here’s what you need to know.
A new report says Prince Charles apparently invited Harry, his wife Meghan and their family to stay at his place when they are next in the U.K. However, royal expert Angela Levin thinks that’s not going to happen because it will be way too awkward for Harry and Meghan to stay with any member of the royal family after they managed to throw just about everyone under the bus in their epic interview with Oprah Winfrey last year.
Meghan Markle Won’t Be Staying With Prince Charles Anytime Soon
“Of course when you are married your partner has a say in it all and I don’t believe Meghan ever wants to come back here,” Levin explained. “She would find it very difficult to stay with Prince Charles and the duchess [of Cornwall] because I think she would be quite awkward about it all.”
That said, Levin still thinks Prince Charles is doing what he can to smooth things over between him and the Sussexes, for better or for worse. “I think Prince Charles loves Harry and he’s been devastated by his behavior—he’s making a hugely important offer, you’d think he could feel resentful but he’s not going down that route.”
“He’s trying to encourage Harry into the royal fold not necessarily into the Royal Family but into being good friends.”
