It looks like Prince William is one the same page with just about every other person on the planet when it comes to this. Apparently, the Duke of Cambridge says that if he were Santa Claus and in charge of Christmas, he would eradicate the COVID-19 pandemic (along with cancer) just so everyone could come together and have a “big party.” Well, you can count us in. Here’s what you need to know.
In an interview with a radio station at the Royal Marsden Hospital, William was asked about his top festive traditions by children receiving cancer treatment at the London hospital, of which he has been president since 2007.
Here’s What Prince William Would Do If He Were Santa Claus
When one small child asked William what he would do if he were Santa for the day, the Duke of Cambridge responded with, “I think I’d have to make sure everyone could enjoy it. So we’d have to bring everyone together have a big party. And there would definitely be no Covid and there certainly wouldn’t be any cancer in the world if I was in charge of Christmas for the day.”
When asked what he wanted by another child for Christmas, Prince William said he wanted Aston Villa to win their football match on Boxing Day.
Meanwhile, a separate report says Prince William and Kate Middleton will be buying Christmas presents for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s two children, Archie and Lilibet. According to royal expert Katie Nichol, she thinks that the festive season will bring out the best in the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and that they will send presents to their niece and nephew in California for Christmas.
William and Kate have not seen Archie since mid-2019, while they are yet to meet Lilibet, who was born back in June. Unfortunately, it seems like it will be some time before they see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s children as they do not plan on visiting the UK for Christmas this year.
Harry and Meghan have been invited to spend Christmas with the royal family at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate, but are yet to RSVP. “There’s a lot that goes into the logistics and the planning of the family Christmas, so of course, staff know that Harry and Meghan are not coming,” one royal source told Page Six. “If they were, they would have communicated it to their family by now.”
