Most recently, Tana Mongeau posted a really suspicious video to tiktok, where she rattled off a conspiracy theory that implied that Brian Laundrie wasn’t dead and that his parents had planted DNA evidence at the scene of the crime and that he was literally pulling a “Joe Goldberg” (from the Netflix series “You”) and was probably off in Pairs having a croissant and living his best life.
Only Tana didn’t frame it as just a conspiracy theory or just an opinion. Tana framed it as fact by saying that news outlets were saying that the DNA evidence came back as not Brian Laundrie when that is in fact not the case.

What Tana was basing her video on was a misleading Nancy Grace headline and another article from Skyline News which has already been proven to not be a credible source. What the Nancy Grace headline was speculating about was the fact that the results for cause of death came up as “inconclusive” which has nothing to do with the actual DNA.
The actual DNA was proven to be that of Brian Laundrie. Now, prior to his remains being found lots of people speculated that Laundrie was off living his best life and that his parents had helped him escape but that just wasn’t the case whatsoever.
Tana also spread the misinformation that the funeral for Brian Laundrie had been cancelled, which is only partially true. The funeral has been postponed until a forensic anthropologist can examine the remains and give authorities and his family a more complete picture of what caused his death.
Right now no one knows how Brian Laundrie went from being a relatively healthy human being to just remains in a matter of 5 weeks. Tana deleted this tiktok but hasn’t come out and said why or offered any sort of explanation for it yet.
Perhaps she saw the error of her ways, perhaps she realized that true crime was just not her forte after all, or maybe, just maybe there was some legal correspondance that she just isn’t talking about. That would make sense. Stay tuned!!!
