A few weeks ago on Tana Mongeau’s Cancelled Podcast, she had Trisha Paytas on the second episode and it blew up. This particular episode of the podcast did really well and had so many views – but now after the huge blowout with Frenemies host Ethan Klein and the dissolution of that podcast and in the wake of Trisha deleting over a billion views from their own channel and going through what she has described as a “rebranding” where she no longer participates in drama on the internet – the podcast has been deleted off of youtube and spotify, and to top it all off, Tana has unfollowed Trisha on Twitter!
So, what gives?
It could be a case of simple rebranding, maybe Trisha simply asked Tana to take down the podcast, and Tana obliged with her new rebranding request. That would be a really cut and dry story and the easy way out, but if that were the case and there were no hard feelings, then it looks like they would still remain following each other on Twitter, right?
Is Tana Mongeau feuding with Trisha Paytas?
If there is a feud between them now, it could all boil down to sponsorships, and here’s how that cookie crumbles: Usually when one sticks up a podcast complete with sponsorships (and we all know that Tana’s podcast has a lot of sponsorships built right in) one has an agreement with the sponsors to leave said podcast up for a certain period of time, if the podcast is deleted then one could very well have to pay back all the sponsorship money that one has received.
If Trisha did essentially screw Tana out of thousands of dollars, then it’s no wonder that she’s no longer following them on Twitter anymore, of course they wouldn’t want to follow the one that stole their bag, ahem. This might also explain why its taken so long for episode 8 to be uploaded because Tana was busy dealing with that kind of fallout and scrambling to smooth things over with her sponsors.
It seems to be back up on spotify now, but that could just be my own personal spotify, earlier the podcast had been deleted. Did they work things out from behind the scenes or did the lawyers tell Trish that this was one thing that she couldn’t control? Stay tuned!!!
