Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers has tested positive for Covid-19! He will now miss the team’s next game after reports surfaced that he tested positive for the virus.

Head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters that Rodgers is in the NFL’s Covid-19 protocol program and didn’t comment on Rodgers’ vaccination status saying, “I’m not going to get into any of our coaches or players’ vaccination status.”

Now, their first-round pick Jordan Love will start in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Cheifs led by Patrick Mahomes.

Rodgers is now the second Packer this week to test positive for Covid. Just yesterday, practice squad quarterback Kurt Benkert tweeted he was placed on the reserve list due to his diagnosis.

According to the NFL’s safety protocol, Rodgers must spend a minimum of 10 days away from the team and can return only after he is asymptomatic.

In August, Rodgers had told reporters that he had been ‘immunized’ and went on to say that getting the vaccine is a personal decision. This goes along with what his coach, LaFleur, has said as well, saying that everyone has to make their own personal decisions.

At the moment, Packers fans shouldn’t be too worried, as the Cheifs and Mahomes haven’t been looking good this year. Mahomes leads the league in interceptions and currently sit at 4-4. They are tied for last place in their conference with the Denver Broncos, but only trail 1 game behind the leading Las Vegas Raiders. At the moment, it still looks like anyone’s game.

The Packers comfortably sit at 1st in their conference, leading by 4 games with their 7-1 record, winning the last 7 games in a row after losing their season opener.

What do you think? What’s your opinion on players getting vaccinated and do you think the Packers will be fine without Rodgers? Let us know in the comments below.
