Aaron Rodgers has slammed his critics who have claimed that he did not dedicate himself to the NFL during his time with the Green Bay Packers prior to the beginning of the 2021 campaign.

Aaron, for his part, has been an instrumental member of the team since he joined them in 2005. However, after having such an illustrious career, his future with the team looked to be in doubt.

Just this season, he skipped his training sessions before confirming that he would not be playing anymore for them in 2022. And yet, he denied that he was not committed to them. In an interview on the ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, Aaron hit back at his haters.

He said: “It’s absolute horses–t to give a platform to people who have no idea what they’re talking about…People that have not been around me, that aren’t in my life.

“I don’t have communication with them…I mean, that’s just … it’s chicken s–t.” Nevertheless, his critics may have a point when we look at what Aaron has been doing recently.

He stepped in to take over as host of the show ‘Jeopardy.’ Although he resonated well with the audience, it ultimately did take some time away from his NFL training.

Naturally, that was bound to have had an impact on his performance and mindset when it came to the NFL. Aaron, though, was not having any of it.

He added: “I think in this day and age … the opinions that are garnering the most attention are the most outlandish… It’s who can say the most outlandish things because that’s going to give you the most [attention].”

It is true to say that Aaron knows what is best for his career. And given that he is not going to be getting any younger, coupled with the fact that he has achieved so much in the sport, he should do what makes him happy.

He continued: “I don’t think I need to defend myself to people who aren’t worth spending time on… It’s often the same people and the same tired rhetoric.”

It is wonderful to see Aaron standing firm in the face of such scrutiny. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
