Bend it like Beckham, for sure. There are new reports that say David Bekcham and Victoria Bekcham’s son, Romeo Beckham, has just signed his first professional football contract. While it might seem like he was just born yesterday (because he was), reports state that the 19-year-old has signed with the Fort Lauderdale CF. Here’s what you need to know.
Romeo shared the news on his Instagram account. He shared a photo with a cation that said, “Follow your dreams.” His Instagram profile also says, “Footballer for @fortlauderdalecf.” Miami Total Futbol reports that he could make his debut on the field as early as this week.
Romeo Beckham Signs First Professional Soccer Contract
So far the Beckhams themselves have not made any comments or announcements about Romeo’s new job just yet.
Meanwhile, over the summer, David Beckham was quizzed by the police in Italy after his two children Cruz and Harper were pictured on jet-skis. Apparently, jet ski users in Italy are supposed to be at least 18 years of age. Cruz is only 16 while Harper is 10.
According to Britain’s The Sun, the international soccer star spoke with local officials after the Beckham family was spotted enjoying their vacation in a luxury yacht off the Amalfi Coast. Photos show both Cruz and Harper on a jet ski in the water. Apparently, David and Victoria Beckham’s two youngest children were spotted jet-skiing for five minutes before a police boat showed up at the scene. David was also spotted sunbathing while on the yacht.
One witness told the publication, “Both Cruz and Harper were wearing life-jackets and staying very near the yacht so it is hard to see what the problem was.”
The Sun went on to claim that the police spoke to David for nearly 45 minutes as his kids anchored their jet-skis and returned it to the yacht.
The witness continued: “The questioning by the police went on for about 45 minutes although it all looked quite amicable. The Guardia Finanza usually deal with drug and people-smuggling so I am sure they had better things to do.”
