ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal we’ve been enjoying the Nixon Falls story on some levels. First, it’s been fun to see Maurice Benard do something a little different as “Mike”. And we have loved the chosen family he’s formed there, even if we’re looking at Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) side-eyed. Again, we’re putting her on about the same level as DOOL’s Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson). But there is one other thing we have to call out.

First, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal things took a turn when Peter August (Wes Ramsey) arrived in the small town. We figured someone from Port Charles was going to see Sonny sooner or later, considering we’ve had quite a few appearances. But Peter was the last one we expected. And things got tense all around. Nina’s under threat to help Peter or he’ll kidnap James and expose her secret.
Making things worse, Sonny picked up on bad vibes quick. This led him to being less-than-hospitable to their new “friend”. Which made Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) upset. She thinks “Mike” is being rude and jealous of anyone who looks at Nina. So, tensions are definitely high all around.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Why we’re bothered
This is where we have a huge problem. See, this isn’t the first time this has happened. Remember when Elijah Crowe (Dan White) showed up and “Mike” was less-than-impressed? He kept trying to warn the Caulfields about this guy, but no one would listen. This led to a lot of trouble, and Mike was ultimately proven to be right about him.
So, why was Phyllis so fast to dismiss “Mike’s” instinct? He’s proven himself to be perceptive and helpful in many ways since coming to Nixon Falls. So, one would think he’d earned some benefit of the doubt here. Especially since he was pointing out how obviously uncomfortable Nina was.
Sure, she did pick up on some tension later, but she still had little urgency about it. This is just screaming trouble, and we’d think Phyllis would encourage “Mike” to talk to Nina in private, or get some info herself.
She’s the one who said she needs a distraction in the wake of her loss, so this would be a perfect thing to occupy herself with. And considering the last person “Mike” warned them of hired people to stick up a dance at gunpoint? Well… she should probably be a little worried about her friend here.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: What’s ahead?
We just don’t see any good ending here, at least as far as Nina’s concerned. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal Peter was correct to say Nina would suffer if her secret came out, and it seems inevitable at this point. So, she’s going to have a long, hard road ahead. While we think Sonny will be angry, we do think there will be understanding. To a point.
As for Phyllis, she’ll probably be disappointed to learn what Nina did. But we do believe that, known or unknown, Phyllis will never have to worry about the Tan-O or anything else ever again. With all the support she has given “Mike”, Sonny will definitely put her under his protection.
Likely, if she learns who he really is and wants to distance herself, we think there will be anonymous donations ahead, or random strangers that show up to help her. And Phyllis is likely going to need that. Especially if she loses Nina as well, thanks to her behavior.
