There are some people out there who wouldn’t touch their mother-in-laws with a teen foot poll, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for Prince William.
In fact, there’s a new report that suggests the Duke of Cambridge has a rather comfortable and even a close relationship with his mother-in-law, Carole Middleton. Some even say that Carole sometimes acts like a second ‘mum’ to the future King of England. Here’s what you need to know.

According to the Daily Mirror, Prince William enjoys having Carole Middleton around because she’s one of the few people behind closed doors that can help him feel “secure and protected.”
At least that’s what royal expert Angela Levin claims. While Prince William was certainly loved and adored by his late mother Princess Diana, it’s Carole that has helped support him during his adult years.
Levin told Fabulous Magazine that for Prince William, his relationship with Carole Middleton has been seen as a huge advantage, especially since his younger brother Prince Harry hasn’t had this same experience with anyone.
She said, “She made him feel secure, comfortable and protected and he didn’t have to worry about what he said or be responsible for her emotions. William learnt through the Middletons how a loving and supportive family works. It has been the bedrock of making Kate loving, calm and confident. Harry hasn’t had that parental opportunity. His background has just been of bitter fighting and incompatibility. Both he and Meghan come from very damaged backgrounds and must carry with them some of the negativity. It must be hard for them to help each other and lack experience in how stable, strong, understanding relationships work.”
Carole has acted like a ‘second mum’ to Prince William ever since he met his now wife Kate Middleton during their university years in Scotland.
