Prince William can tolerate a lot of things in his life, but if there’s one person he absolutely cannot tolerate anymore, it’s his estranged sister-in-law Meghan Markle and her behavior.
In fact, there’s a new report that suggests Prince William absolutely does not want to see Meghan Markle return to the UK to attend the Princess Diana statue unveiling next month. Read on for everything you need to know.
According to the Daily Express, the Duke of Cambridge has made it pretty clear that he would like to keep social distancing a permanent thing between him and Meghan Markle. He also doesn’t want her to be at the Princess Diana statue unveiling, which is set to take place on July 1, which would have also been the late princess’ 60th birthday.
Prince William Absolutely Does Not Want To See Meghan Markle Back In The UK
And while Meghan Markle initially had no intention of traveling to London for the ceremony (seeing how she just gave birth to her second child), Prince William wants it to be known that she is certainly not welcome anywhere near the palace, not today, not tomorrow, or ever.
Royal expert Charlotte Griffiths puts it this way, “This decision and this whole thing was 50 percent William. Diana is his mother too. He makes a point about that regularly behind closed doors. This was not the right time to bring Meghan in because there is so much tension between William and Meghan particularly.”
But then again, Richard Eden, the Mail’s daily editor, points out that while Prince Harry will certainly be there, Meghan had never RSVP’d to begin with.
He said: “It’s not a surprise because she wasn’t expected to attend. The day was always very much about Diana and her sons. They are the ones making the speeches. Can you imagine Meghan coming over after everything that has passed?”
With that said, Griffiths added: “In another world, you can imagine Meghan really looking forward to this visit. Her daughter’s middle name is Diana and it’s quite good for ‘brand Markle’. But how could she actually face up to it after everything that has happened?”
