Unlike Prince Harry, Kate Middleton’s brother James Middleton doesn’t mind keeping under the radar. In fact, there’s a new report that says James and his fiancé Alizee Thevenet have just snapped up a $2 million dollar home in the pretty Berkshire village of Buckleberry. And for those wondering how that happened, here’s what you need to know.
James Middleton has been keeping a rather low profile these last few years, but here are a few good reasons for it. The young businessman admitted to suffering from depression following several business deals gone wrong including his marshmallow printing business, Boomf.

With that said, there must have been something left in his pockets – despite his million dollar losses – for him to afford a brand new spanking home. It’s a four-bedroom Grade II listed period farmhouse with beams and leaded windows in a village on the Bucklebury fringes. Kate and James’ parents,
Michael and Carole Middleton, live nearby in a Georgian manor house while their sister Pippa Middleton recently bought Bucklebury Farm Park, a petting zoo which is a favourite of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Back in 2020, James Middleton admitted in an interview that his dog Ella helped him cope with his depression, who he now credits with saving his life. He appeared on the BBC Sunday Morning Live show where he talked about his struggles with depression.
He talked rather candidly about how Ella, who is a black cocker spaniel, has given him the confidence to not only seek help for his depression, but also talk about it, too.
“They’re a very, very loyal companion,” James explained in his interview. “For me, during troubled times and good times, they’re my consistent.”
James continued, “I got this diagnosis and Ella came to all of my therapy sessions, which I was reluctant to go from the start. But with her by my side, I really became confident in understanding that I had a mental illness. I would go so far as to say that I owe Ella my life, and she doesn’t know that.”
