NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal fans recently got great news. Their favorite show was renewed for two years, instead of the one they’d been getting each season. Since then, Ken Corday, the show’s producers and son of its creators, has been chatting DOOL.

Recently, another article came out on Soap Opera Network where he spoke about the renewal, production shutdowns, and the new world of streaming. Let’s take a look at a few of the highlights and why we disagree on one point.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Looking ahead

While the interview delves into the past and theme that has been in the show throughout it’s run so far, Corday was also all about the future. Apparently, getting that two-year renewal was energizing.

In the interview, he speaks about being able to get a bit more aggressive and ambitious in the storytelling and planning. We think they’ve already take a few big chances in the past couple of years, so we can’t imagine what might be ahead.

What we do know is, Corday plans to keep up the production schedule that allowed DOOL to be the only soap never to run out of fresh material. However, there’s one place they won’t be going. We’re glad for this, but we also disagree with his reasoning.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: CoVid and Soaps

Corday didn’t get out of this without talking about current events. Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal the show’s production schedule really worked in their favor as the rest of the soaps were airing repeats to tide fans over.

While he spoke a bit about working with these new circumstances, he also talked about why they won’t be adding this into the story.

The thing is, we both agree with and disagree with the reasoning. Sure, their overseas viewers getting episodes years later is a good reason to avoid the topic. These stories would seem dated years into the future.

However, he also spoke about how he didn’t think audiences would want to go there in the future. We’ve seen plenty of comments saying they don’t want to go there now, as it’s happening.

Many fans have been clear they love watching for the fun and escape. And it’s hard to escape something you’re seeing on the news every day when your shows are also dealing with it.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The future’s online?

Finally, Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal the show has been a bit ahead of the curve. Even before the shutdown, DOOL was putting their episodes online while political preemptions were taking over daytime.

Something General Hospital, for example, didn’t do until well into that situation. Corday spoke about the importance of streaming and how DOOL is doing in that world. Apparently, well enough for there to be talk of older episodes going online.

However, Corday also laid out numerous reasons why it’s going to be a bit of a journey to making that a reality. Mainly, the complicated mess of figuring out residuals for so many years of programming. He seemed confident, however, that it would eventually get worked out.

Personally, we’d love to go back and see some of the old episodes. We’d especially love to see a certain iconic villain who had a brief comeback, thanks to Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson), in action.

Or maybe Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) possession story, or see how some of these doubles running around Salem came into the picture.  Check out the article for more.
