ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal star Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) took his popular Instagram talks to YouTube. These weekly chats offer a look into the man behind the character, and this one was no exception. Let’s see why this week’s talk was so important to him.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The topic

Recent ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal Sonny isn’t feeling much sadness these days. It must be hard to when you can’t remember all the reasons you might have to be that way.

It actually seems freeing, and you can see the effect it has on Sonny as he lives life as Mike. However, this is bound to change and his portrayer had some advice for fans who are dealing with sadness.

The gist? Cry. Cry without shame. This message was especially directed at the men watching. This is a message we’ve seen put out there a lot, and Maurice put his own personal spin on it. Let’s get into a little more of the importance of crying and why Benard felt he needed to share this.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Emotional volcano

Basically, he spoke a bit about how when we hold back emotions, we’re creating a dam inside that is bound to burst at some point. We can’t agree more, and it makes a lot of sense to let these emotions out a little at a time, rather than waiting for a big breakdown.

He shared a story about his own breakdown, as well as how his childhood shaped the way he looked at crying.

So, what brought this topic out? Apparently, he’d been watching something on TV that made him question where the character was coming from and felt he had to share on his YouTube show. We loved the raw emotion you can see coming through as he spoke about the topic and it’s sure to inspire a lot of his followers.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The reaction

As for those fans, the reaction has been big. The actor retweeted several people’s comments thanking him for the episode and talking about how important it was. His YouTube comments were a similar story, with people really opening up to the actor.

One viewer said, “Even tho I am a grown woman, I still feel ashamed when I cry and usually don’t let anyone see me crying. I usually have a good cry when I’m alone in bed. My anxiety usually builds up and then I have a flood of tears. So glad that you are talking about this Maurice, you help so many people.”

Another added, “Crying is a form of releasing that is very healing.  No one should ever be shamed or teased for crying.” Check out the video to see the talk for yourself, as well as the conversation around it.
