‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers have found that we reported earlier this week that a mystery actor was currently on the Salem set after stepping into the role of once dead (but when has that kept a good Salemite down?) Elvis J. DiMera.
Fans knew not to get their hopes up when James Scott spouted about 20 ‘ever’s after the timeframe of ‘never’ coming back to Hollywood, but curiosity has been piqued since it was revealed our favorite British-Italian villain was back in town.

Why is EJ in Salem? What’s happening with him and wife Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney)? Has he completely healed? And, most importantly, is he still a drop dead gorgeous dreamboat that has us scribbling NB & EJ 4 Eva in the margin of our notebooks…no…just me?
Well, it looks like at least one of those questions have been answered. Though it has not been confirmed by the DOOL production team, it appears it is Australia actor Dan Feuerriegel who will be stepping into Scott’s stylish loafers, empty since 2014!
Feuerriegel is no stranger to soaps, starting out in Australia on several primetime soaps, Outback based McLeod’s Daughters, beachy Home and Away and hospital drama All Saints. However, he is best known to U.S. audiences as gladiator Agron in the Starz’ series, Spartacus.
Fans will get to see EJ’s new face (as opposed to the bandaged man last on our screens) in the summer, but that’s as close to a debut date as we have. It is presumed Sami will still be in Salem at that point, as head writer, Ron Carlivati promised Hurricane Sami would be staying put for “an extended period.”
It will be interesting to see if Alison and Dan will have the same chemistry as Alison and James. Seeing as Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) and Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) don’t seem to be heading to a happily ever after, we need one couple to smolder…and I’m sick of waiting for Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gerring) and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) to get their $h!t together!
