As many fans know by now, Sharon and Sheryl discussed whether British TV personality Piers Morgan had made racist comments about Meghan Markle.
The Talk Is Canceling Shows Following Sharon Osbourne’s Controversial Remarks
Osbourne, seemingly concerned that she was being deemed racist herself for defending Piers, repeatedly spoke over Sheryl Underwood during the conversation, prompting criticism on social media about Sharon Osbourne’s behavior.
Sheryl noted that “while you are standing by you your friend, it appears that you are giving validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist.” Among his most incendiary remarks, Piers Morgan said he did not believe Meghan Markle’s suicidal thoughts.
“I feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is racist, so that makes me a racist,” Sharon said, before asking Sheryl to be precise about how Morgan has been racist.
Sharon Osbourne apologized for her comments on Thursday, saying, “I am truly sorry. I panicked, felt blindsided, got defensive & allowed my fear and horror of being accused of being racist take over.”
If that weren’t enough, one insider says that the heated exchange left a lot of people very upset behind the scenes at The Talk, according to E! Online.
“Several employees reached out to HR after Wednesday’s show because of the way Sharon Osbourne handled the conversation,” the insider claimed. “Sharon’s defense of Piers Morgan felt like a triggering moment and it was very difficult for many of the staff to watch.”
