Telenovela news indicates it’s that time again. The one thing we find both great and problematic about Telenovelas is that they’re limited series, usually. Sure, there are exceptions like La Reina de Sur and the Paraíso franchise. But most are a one-and-done deal, and new shows come to take their place.

This means you get limited time with stories and characters you love, but you get to find new ones that replace stories that just aren’t working.

We fell out of Falsa Identidad for this reason, but we have something new to try tonight. Let’s take a look at the two new novelas of Telemundo. Plus, we’ll fill you in on what’s coming to replace Imperio de Mentiras.

Telenovela news: La suerte de Loli

First, Telenovela news indicates Telemundo will kick off a night of premieres this evening at 9 PM with this series, which translates to Loli’s fate. It’s about a woman who works for a radio station and is completely independent and free.

However, a tragedy changes all that. Dolores “Loli” Aguilar’s (Silvia Navarro) best friend passes away and she ends up with the woman’s children. We can already see where this one is going, and the promos make us hopeful this will be a good one.

It had a slightly comedic tone, which is always a nice change when there’s so much drama in the rest of the networks’ lineups.

Other stars you might have seen us mention include Gaby Espino (Paulina), who was part of the No te puedes seconder cast. There’s also Amaranta Ruiz (Guadalupe), who played big parts in Betty En NY and Enemigo Intimo, and Carlos Ponce (La Doña).

    Telenovela news: Buscando a Frida

At 10 PM, Buscano a Frida (Searching for Frida) begins. This show is an adaptation of a novela from Chile. This one has had a couple of other adaptations, including a Telemundo version back in 2010 and one in Turkey. There’s also a new version coming to the Philippines.

The story centers around a missing person and is partially inspired by the Madeleine McCann story. In this and the other versions, the missing person is a teenager and this should be a drama-packed one, as secrets are promised to be revealed in the search for answers.

Telenovela news: ¿Te acuerdas de mí?

Finally, let’s update you on the Telenovela news at Univision. We absolutely love their lineup, with the exception of Imperio de Mentiras. That show is coming to an end, with a new series premiering on February 8th.

Titled, ¿Te acuerdas de mí?, the show is also an adaption of another story. As is pretty popular these days, the source material is from Turkey. That show was called Night Queen, while the translation for this one is Do you remember me?

The story centers around a man who is tired of his farce of a marriage. However, when he decides he wants to put an end to things, he’s threatened and decides to give up a new love. However, he meets up with her again years later. This one sounds like one of the most intriguing for us, so we’ll see how these shows turn out.

She’s a recent Days of Our Lives convert, having grown up on the nighttime shows of the '90s. She’s also an accomplished writer in many fields, including paranormal fiction. Jamie loves the crazy twists that Soap Opera writers come up with, even though she's sometimes yelling at the characters. As a published and accomplished writer, she knows how to get into the minds of the writers and is usually bang on in predicting plot twists before they come to life. When she’s not writing for Daily Soap Dish, Jamie binge watches telenovelas as a way to improve her Spanish. They also fuel her muse, which tends to upset her readers.
