On 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, we saw Kalani Faagata consulting with a lawyer about her marriage to Asuelu Pulaa. The couple has gone through a lot the past couple of years and Kalani may be ready to call it quits with him.
The couple continues to break up and make up and it looks like this is just a vicious cycle that they can’t get out of. What will happen to them if they do get a divorce? There is quite a lot to think about, but Kalani thinks that it is the best option for her right now.
’90 Day Fiancé’: Some Serious Questions and Thoughts
When Asuelu moved to the states, he had to apply for his K-1 visa. Because Kalani wasn’t making a lot of money at the time, her father actually signed to help sponsor him for the visa. This means that her father is responsible for him for 10 years!
This has been in Kalani’s mind the whole time, but when she visits her lawyer, they tell her that this law has actually changed. The Trump administration changed it so now her father is responsible for Asuelu until he dies or gets deported. This is quite the sticky situation she has found herself in.
Kalani was shocked to hear this news. She told cameras, “Obviously when I had my dad sign that, I could’ve sworn that we would never get divorced but here we are. I feel like I was so in love with him and so wrapped up in our romance that we had at the beginning that I was just so stupid with a lot of things. I would hope that if we ever got divorced that Asuelu would go back to Samoa. If he stayed around, it could turn out to be a nightmare. We’re at a fork in the road now. It’s either I’m gonna be a single mom and be with my kids or I’m gonna stay married to Asuelu.”
All of this has been happening as Kalani’s father has started getting along really well with Asuelu. We aren’t sure what Kalani is going to do, but whatever it is, we hope that she is ready for the final decision.We hope that things work out in the best way for her.
