Jibri and Miona Bell have been living at his parents’ home in South Dakota, but now it looks as if they are getting the boot. His parents want him out of there and he isn’t too happy about it. After all, he hasn’t been working or saving money, and now his wedding to Miona is creeping in on them. What will these two do?

Jibri and Miona are already pretty stressed about a lot of things in their lives and with their wedding coming up, they have a lot to tackle. While they are playing cards in the bedroom, Jibri’s dad comes to the door and asks them if they have time to talk.

They immediately said that they started feeling like they were 15 years old again. His parents are sitting by one another and have very serious looks on their faces. This is when they break the news.
Brian, his dad, asks them what kind of plans they have for the next few months. They have already been there for a few months but now time is running out. Jibri says to him, “So you’re kicking us out is what you’re saying?”
His mother, Mahala, says, “We talked about before Miona came that you could stay with us for a few months. We all had talked about the end of the year after you guys got married.” Jibri tells her that it was still four months until the end of the year and he seems very confused.
Mahala says, “Yeah that’s what we’re talking about, we want to firm up plans.” His dad asks him when they are getting married and they tell them they don’t know yet. Jibri gets very defensive and his mother says, “So again, this goes back to plans. This isn’t personal.
This isn’t about not wanting to be there. We’ve said over and over and over that we want to be at your wedding and we needed to know when so that we could make plans.” Jibri tells his parents that they haven’t had time to plan, but Brian points out that they have had three months to plan.
Of course, Miona looks at this as a blessing because it shows Jibri that they need to leave his parents’ house. She said nothing while his parents were telling them all of this because she really didn’t know what to say to them. Jibri then tells his parents that they should have helped him figure this out. Brian says, “You’re 28 years old. You’re an adult. It’s your wedding.”
