Former 90 Day Fiancé cast member, Geoffrey Paschel shocked viewers when he was arrested for domestic violence charges. The love of his life, Varya Malina has stood by him no matter what and her fans think that she needs to move on with her life instead of staying with him.
She has continued to ask her fans for financial support for him so that he can get more legal assistance. She and his family all feel as if he is innocent even though the court found him guilty of the charges. According to the court documents, he is serving at least eighteen years in prison for these charges.

Paschel was convicted on October 7, 2021, and the charges against him are “aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with an emergency call”. His ex-girlfriend made these allegations and she also told the police that she was held against her will by Paschel in June 2019.

With these charges against him, fans of the show called for him to be fired from the show and his story be pulled from the franchise altogether. Many fans thought TLC knew about these charges before he appeared on the show and felt that they covered this up.
Nonetheless, Varya has been by him every step of the way and she told fans that he was planning on appealing these charges. It looks as if Geoffrey did file an appeal and legal records show that it was filed on July 6 of 2022. He had many extensions on the appeal and there was another one filed on December 8. According to the appeal, his legal team wrote multiple reasons why these charges should be thrown out.
The appeal reads, “Following an argument with his girlfriend, Kristin Wilson Chapman, Geoffry Paschel was arrested for misdemeanor domestic assault on June 9, 2019. Two and a half years later, Mr. Paschel was sentenced to 18 years to serve in the Tennessee Department of Corrections for the same incident that led to his June 9th arrest. Mr. Paschel was overcharged and over-sentenced. This trial was plagued with errors that violated the principles of Due Process and Mr. Paschel’s constitutional rights to a fair trial. United States Constitution Amendment Five, Six, and Fourteen. The trial court allowed the jury to hear improper testimony from two of the State’s three witnesses rather than declaring a mistrial either time the witnesses violated the court’s previous order. The jury convicted Mr. Paschel without sufficient evidence to establish each element beyond a reasonable doubt.”
It went on, “The trial court expanded the trial errors at the sentencing hearing by allowing the state to present testimony on Ms. Chapman’s injuries and from Mr. Paschel’s ex-wife regarding Mr. Paschel’s alleged violent behavior. The court relied upon this improper and uncorroborated testimony to apply three enhancement factors and increase Mr. Paschel’s sentence 6 years above the minimum guideline range.”
