’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers reveal that American Steven Johnston and Russian fiance Alina have just moved to Turkey and Alina managed to convince him that unlike his original plans, that they needed to stay together in the same apartment.
Steven is afraid that they’re going to be too tempted to have sex which would be in direct conflict with his strict Mormon religion.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: How busy is the marriage department?
However, Alina’s not so worried about it and said that staying together in the same apartment could very well be a test of Steven’s faith, also she said that she didn’t feel safe without him in Turkey, where she knows no one.
While Steven is definitely afraid of temptation, he’s more afraid that Alina will see him as not making her his number one priority, so he decided to stay with her in the end.
But Steven isn’t above taking chances. For instance, he told Alina that he had hitch-hiked through several countries (a fact that makes us all wonder how he’s still alive) and proceeded to demonstrate that very phenomenon with her.
When Alina proposed that it was not safe, Steven just said, “If I get a bad feeling, we’ll just roll out.” meaning they would exit the vehicle when it came to a stop – or, it didn’t even have to come to a stop he would just roll out if he got a bad feeling about the driver. Steven must have extremely good health insurance, just throwing that out there.
So they hitch-hiked to the lawyer’s office, and got the news of how to get married in Turkey. While for Alina it would be easy to procure the documents proving that she’s single from Anatlya, since that’s where the Russian consulate is, Steven will have to fly all the way to Ankara to get his documentation.
Once they get the necessary docs proving that they are single, they have to go to the marriage department in Turkey and apply for a license there. After they are approved, that’s when they take their marriage license to the Russian consulate to show them that they are married and that’s when Steven can finally set foot on Russian soil.
That’s a lot, and to be honest I am probably missing a few steps in that narrative, but that’s the way it sounded. When Steven asked how long that would take, the lawyer simply said that it would depend on how busy the marriage department was, wow, that begs the question – do they normally have a lot of backlogged cases?
That could definitely put a hamper on what Steven wanted, as far as getting married ASAP. He doesn’t want anything to screw up the possibility of Alina getting baptised and living together before marriage might just do that, especially if they were tempted beforehand. We’ll see where this lands. Stay tuned!!!
