‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers propose that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) are on the outs because Michael kept Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) secret that she was behind turning Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) into the Securities Exchange Commission.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Has Been Deceived By Those He Trusted Implicitly
When Sonny learned he was deceived, he kicked Nina out of the penthouse and distanced himself from Michael.
Since then, Sonny discovered that Michael also hired Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to set him up with the Feds. At least that was the plan before Carly got her hands on the incriminating flash drive and promptly stomped on it.
After that, Carly hired Dex to protect Sonny. Eventually, Sonny and Dex formed a strong bond, and it looked like he was starting to depend on Dex.
Everything was smooth sailing until Brick (Stephen A. Smith) discovered that Dex had an offshore account containing significant funds.
He almost killed Dex, intending to bury him in the Pine Barrens, and now Sonny has learned that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is alive and has been trying to kill him.
Sonny also thinks that Jason shot his other son, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). Of course, Jason isn’t after Sonny and wasn’t the one who shot Dante, but Sonny doesn’t know that yet. Michael is the perfect person to build a bridge between the two former best friends.
Jason helped raise Michael when he was a child. He knows Jason would never perform these awful acts. It is Michael’s sincere desire to repair his relationship with Sonny.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Michael Knows Jason is Innocent
Sonny does many things well, but he is best at holding a grudge when he feels he’s been wronged, which is how we know Nina doesn’t stand a chance at reconciling with the Godfather.
However, Michael is Sonny’s son and wants to heal that broken bond once he’s calmed down. However, Michael may need to take the first step and mend the relationship between Sonny and Jason.
Sonny is having difficulty wondering why Jason would do any of this, but the facts speak for themselves. Jason was seen with the sniper who shot at him at his warehouse.
The person who ambushed him on his private island in Puerto Rico had to have known the territory intimately to be able to bypass Sonny’s tightly wound security.
Also, let’s not forget that Jason pretended to be dead for over two years, so in Sonny’s mind, he has to consider that Jason could have put all this into motion.
Sonny is concerned that Jason isn’t the same man, but Michael knows better. He will ultimately convince his father that he can trust Jason.
It looks like Jason is working as a double agent, pretending to go after Sonny when he is protecting him from the real enemy.
But everything is riding on Dante waking up and confirming that Jason wasn’t the one who shot him. Michael facilitating Sonny and Jason’s rekindled friendship would prove himself to Sonny, which can be how he earns forgiveness.
