King Charles will take a break from his royal duties for at least one month after prostate surgery. He needs that time to recover and take care of himself.
King Charles May Feel Pressure to Return to Work Quickly
Reports indicate that the King is doing well as he was admitted to the London Clinic on Friday evening and received treatment for an enlarged prostate.
King Charles also visited Princess Catherine, who recently underwent abdominal surgery in the same hospital. She will not go back to work until Easter.
In the meantime, Prince Willliam is caring for his children full-time. With the three prominent royals not working at the moment, the already slimmed-down monarchy is being challenged.
This situation would have been the opportune time for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to show loyalty to the royal family by at least coming to the UK to see King Charles and Princess Catherine.
The monarchy would have benefitted immensely if they were still working royals and could have undertaken many engagements to pick up the slack.
But the Sussexes were far too busy in Jamacia hobnobbing with the Paramount boss, Brain Robbins, and taking pictures with the Prime Minister, who is vehemently opposed to the monarchy.
There is a glaring lack of royals involved in working and attending engagements right now. It appears that the Firm is at a bit of a standstill.
King Charles may feel pressured to return to work quickly and at full speed ahead, but Queen Camilla is very concerned for the King’s health and tells him to slow down and rest.
He had some important meetings lined up this past week but had to cancel due to his prostate procedure. Dumfries House in East Ayrshire was one of them.
Queen Camilla Says That King Charles is a Workaholic
In 2023, King Charles participated in 516 commitments over the course of the year. This includes trips overseas and to other countries.
Royal biographer Robert Jobson commented,
“The King is a grafter and has always had an innate sense of duty and tried his best to justify his good fortune by working tirelessly to improve the lot of others less fortunate than himself.”
The King is known for his tenacity and fortitude, so it will be difficult for him to take a break. However, he will take this time to recover at his Sandringham estate.
Camilla said last week that
“The King is doing fine and looking forward to getting back to work.”
According to the Queen, Charles is a workaholic. He never slows down.
The King often skips lunch to remain at his desk, embroiled in work. He handles correspondence and official papers until late, even in the early morning. Sleep does not always fit into his hectic schedule.
It is unknown how much longer King Charles will be in the hospital, but reports indicate that he will probably spend the remainder of the weekend there.
King Charles has been more forthcoming than Kate about his health because he wants to spread the word that men should have their prostate checked.
Queen Camilla was all smiles when she visited her husband in the hospital. She claims the procedure went well, and King Charles is recovering quite well.
