Lance Bass is encouraging Britney Spears fans to be more forgiving of Justin Timberlake as he has turned off comments on Instagram due to an angry mob of her fans attacking him.
Timberlake has taken a metaphorical beating from Britney’s followers for the contents of her new bombshell memoir, “The Woman in Me.” Lance Bass, one of Justin’s bandmates from Nsync, is standing up for the “Sexy Back” singer.
Everyone knows that Timberlake and Spears were in a romantic relationship for three years, from 1999 to 2002. Bass voiced his concerns over the bashing of Timberlake and asked that fans take it easy on him.
Lance Bass Wants Britney Fans to Forgive Justin
Bass pointed out that Britney has forgiven Timberlake, and we should all be as gracious. Spears wrote in her book about the secret abortion she had because Timberlake didn’t want to be a father.
The “Baby One More Time” singer also shared that Timberlake cheated on her numerous times, one time in particular with another celebrity. She also told her fans that Justin broke up with her via text in two words: “It’s over.”
Timberlake used Britney to become famous apart from his Nsync status. The song “Cry Me a River” is said to be about his break up with the “Toxic” hitmaker, even though he is the one who caused the heartbreak.
In 2003, when Britney’s album, “In the Zone,” came out, Britney sat down with TV journalist Diane Sawyer, who accused Britney of causing Justin “so much pain.” Because Justin played the scorned lover role, everyone vilified Spears for their break up.
Bass urged Britney’s fans, “Everyone deserves to tell their story. She did, and, you know, I hope the fans can, again, find some forgiveness.”
Bass did not respond to fans who asked him if Timberlake has admitted to these indiscretions or how Justin feels about Britney talking about the abortion. Still, he planned to read her book during his flight at Los Angeles International Airport.
Justin is Not Happy About How He is Portrayed in the Book
A source close to Justin has said that even though this book is Britney’s way of healing and telling her side of the story, Timberlake is unhappy about what has been revealed in this memoir. He thought that the abortion would remain their secret forever.
When Britney’s fans took to social media to confront Timberlake on her behalf, Justin turned off his comments on Instagram because it got too real for him.
He had to see the trauma he caused Britney, and he couldn’t deny it. Spears fans may have taken it one step too far by going after Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel, for marrying a “cheater.”
Many people left comments on Jessica Biel’s Instagram. One person said, “Girl, run. You deserve better. WAY BETTER.”
Another user commented, “Can Justin do us all a favor now and cry us a river?”
Britney has responded to all this by explaining to her fans that she has moved on. She wrote this book to put closure to the past. Not to hurt or offend anyone.
