‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is finally ready to do the right thing. She has been trying to figure out how to get away with her crimes and has been working to make that happen. When her daughter, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) puts her in her place, she finally decides to do the right thing.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Whole Heap of Trouble
Phyllis is facing some serious consequences for her actions. She faked her death with the help of Jeremy Stark (James Hyde). They framed Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) for her “murder” and Diane was arrested.
Then, when Phyllis decided she couldn’t just disappear and start a new life, Stark decided he needed to kill her for real. When he attacked her, she fought back in self-defense and killed him.
The problem is, Phyllis doesn’t have any witnesses for her assertions. She says Stark coerced her to do this and that he attacked her. In reality, she was in on the plan from the beginning. She did have to defend herself when he attacked her, but she has no witnesses to that.
The Genoa City D.A. Christine Blair Williams (Lauralee Bell) is ready to take Phyllis down. Phyllis has done so many things that she has just gotten away with, and Christine wants her to pay this time.
But Christine is also concerned because she does not know if the witness Phyllis says she has is really credible. She has to be careful to prosecute only if she has a strong enough case.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Making a Deal
Christine tells Phyllis that she can go after Summer for aiding and abetting a criminal. Summer knew her mother was alive but kept it a secret. She tried to help her mother while she was on the run. Christine tells Phyllis that if she will plead guilty and will not appeal, she will not go after Summer.
Phyllis is not planning on this course of action and is just going to fight. But, when Summer confronts her about the shady deals she is making to stay out of prison, it shakes Phyllis up. Summer says her mother has not changed and only cares about her own safety. While she hasn’t wanted her mother to go to prison, she also doesn’t want to see her mom going back to her old ways.
Her mother also talks about her own troubles and grief and Summer has had to endure a lot because her mother “died”. First, she grieved and secondly, she lost her marriage because she tried to help her mother. She is kind of sick of it and is coming around to her brother’s opinion that her mother should face some consequences.
After that conversation, Phyllis surprises both Christine and her lawyer Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom), telling them that she wants to make a deal. While she may not get much of a punishment at all for her shenanigans, it appears that Phyllis finally wants to walk the straight and narrow. What do you think about this? Is she really going to start doing the right thing?
