Love Is Blind viewers got a chance to see a big blowout between Zanab Jaffrey and Cole Barnett on the reunion episode. During that episode, she made claims that he was constantly telling her that she was eating too much or questioned how much of one thing she was eating.
She said that the way he talked to her in a particular scene, which never aired, was all about how many Cuties she ate at one time. If you are not familiar, Cuties are the tiny oranges that are just so delicious and low calorie.
She mentioned that they had dinner to go to that night, but she needed a snack so she ate two of them. They had been filming all day so she was hungry and tired. According to her, he questioned why she ate so many and that made her feel bad about her weight. Luckily, the producers found that footage.
Love is Blind: Two Sides to the Story
After the footage aired, fans of the show were torn as to which one of the cast members they would support in this argument. Cole recently appeared on an episode of the “Lauren Interviews” podcast and he talked about the Cuties scene and just what it meant for him.
Love is Blind: The Cuties Scene Saves the Day For Cole Barnett
Cole told Lauren Speed Conlin, “I’m just so thankful they play the ‘Cuties scene’ because it’s like, ‘I don’t know why you’d say that I was body shaming you as well.'” According to Zanab, Cole was very focused on her eating habits in this scene. He assured her and everyone else that this scene wasn’t about that at all. He just wanted to give her a reminder that they were going out for a really big dinner that night.
He went on, “I was like, ‘Hey, remember to save your appetito because we have dinner.’ I was trying to keep things light and the reason that I’m using the word ‘appetito’ instead of appetite and speaking like a normal human is that I knew how sensitive things were with Zay on everything. I was walking on eggshells because I knew there were just tripwires everywhere. The moment I say one thing that hits her wrong, I am now the worst.”
Cole told fans, “She played me 100 percent. Because she told me that there was a chance that we were getting married. She had said she was 100 or 1,000 percent ready to marry me on that last date. It left me very broken and very shattered.”
