They always say that there is three sides to every story, his side, her side, and the truth, and in the case of Casey Anthony you just have to wonder what the actual truth is. Especially since her new, three-part documentary has come out on Peacock. This was the first case that had social media buzzing heavily, everyone has commented on it, including high profile celebrities like the Kardashians.

People were really invested in what had happened to this little girl, because no one knew and no explanation that they gave us was actually making sense either. At first, Casey told law enforcement that the last time she had seen the child she was with Xenaida Fernanda Gonzales, who as it turns out was not even her Nanny and only tangently acquainted with Casey.

The Casey Anthony case revisited in shocking new documentary with new information!

“Not my friend, not my nanny.” says Anthony in the documentary, in spite of her original claims to law enforcement that the woman had babysat for her for two years.

If you’re expecting the documentary to start making sense and there to be a common thread that pulls everything together at some point, keep dreaming, because it never happens throughout the entire three part series. In fact it drags a lot during the second episode and Anthony, instead of focusing on her daughter keeps the focus almost entirely on herself for the entire documentary.

She claims that her memory is fragmented and that she has bits and pieces of what happened on the day that her daughter disappeared but there is never an explanation that she gives that makes sense or completely satisfies any of the questions that we have.

She recounts one memory saying that she had woken up to her Father George Anthony asking where Caylee was and then she rushed around trying to look for her. Previously she claimed that little Caylee had been asleep next to her and that she had always locked the door to her room at night to prevent her Dad from coming in. (We’ll come back to that.)

Then she says that she remembers a George laying a lifeless, soaking wet, Caylee in her arms and telling her “You’re responsible for this.” and Casey dropped to her knees, screaming and sobbing and that is when George took the little girl and assured Casey that everything would be okay and that he would take care of it, even assuring her that Caylee would be okay.

What’s disturbing is that Casey claims that George repeatedly raped her from the ages for 8-12 and then said that after she turned 12 that her brother would come in her room at night, but insisted that he never raped her which raises some other, more disturbing questions.

As for how she got pregnant with Caylee, she says she was raped at a party when she was 18, after she had claimed at first that Caylee’s father was an ex-boyfriend and then when his DNA test didn’t match, she claimed it was a family friend who had started another family with someone else.

Another long ago claim that she had made back when the case was on dateline was that the Father had died in a car accident before she could get his DNA tested and that was why there was no father in Caylee’s life. Now she is claiming something completely different so who knows what the real truth is about how little Caylee got here?

The issue now is that she isn’t here any longer and we still don’t know how that happened. As the documentary goes on, we finally find that Casey lied about a lot of things but according to her it was because George was coercing her to do so and needed her to be “the best little liar she could be” because “he knew”.

According to Casey’s defense team, they feel that there was “an accident” that happened outside the pool and feel that George may have put Caylee in the pool to throw law enforcement off. George Anthony himself was a former police detective, so he would have had some knowledge on how to do that if what Casey is saying is true and he did have something to do with the death of Little Caylee.

She also said something extremely interesting about her Mother, she said that she was trying to gather enough funds for her and Caylee to leave the place and get a place of their own but she didn’t want to tell her Mom until she was ready to move.

She also said that if she had told her Mother beforehand that her Mother would have guilted her into staying and that she felt that her Mother was trying to live her own life vicariously through Casey.

The rest of the documentary doesn’t really paint her Mom in the greatest of lights, when Casey confided in her about being abused by both her Dad and brother, her Mom responded with, “Oh, so that’s why you’re a whore.” Casey said she felt extremely hurt by this and all guilt aside, who wouldn’t be? Ouch!

The conclusion of the documentary was pretty unsatisfactory, but there was no real justice served. She was right about one thing, this case is never going to have the ending that we want it to have because there is no returning that little girl to life.

She will never get a second chance. As for the allegations against George Anthony, he has denied them all and refused to speak to anyone concerning this documentary. According to Casey there is no statute of limitations on what George did so she could bring charges but so far she hasn’t, it’s been 14 years so that begs the question… why not? Where does the truth lie for this little girl? Did we just spend 3 hours entertaining the half truths of a mad woman or could Casey Anthony be truly innocent? Looks like we’ll never know.
