2018 called, they want their influencers back. Blast from the past, looks like Shane Dawson is into doing documentaries again and this time he’s decided to lean on his old friend, Jeffree Star, to get things done. Apparently back before the whole cancellation thing, he and Jeffree were actually working on a second pallette together, a pallette that they never ended up releasing to the public.
But post cancellation, Shane texted Jeffree and told him that it was better not to do it and that he didn’t know at that point if he was ever going to release anything onto the internet ever again.
Shane Dawson returns to the world of beauty?
Fast forward two years, time heals all wounds apparently, and now Shane feels that this is an appropriate time to talk about the pallette. At first he started by just wanting to film a day in the life vlog but then he realized that he actually wanted the video to have a purpose, and that he actually wanted to do a documentary.
He said that one idea he had was kind of up in the air and it was a “really big maybe”, but then, he got the call from Jeffree Star saying that he could talk about the pallette and use the footage he had shot from early, pre-COVID 2020 and Shane simply ran with it.
Shane also addressed the people who had previously hated on him and said that he simply released the pallette for a quick cash grab before. He stated that while he did make a pretty good chunk of change off the project that it wasn’t enough to “retire” off of, which is probably why he’s back to youtube now.
He even mentioned doing tiktok, which is a change in tune from what he was saying before when he said that he didn’t do tiktok. As of this writing his most recent tiktok was posted just 4 hours ago.
As far as vouching for him, he even got Ryland’s family involved – not that he meant to, but Ryland’s Mother weighed in about all the haters that he was getting saying that it made her mad that people thought that he was just after the money when it was clear to her that for Shane this was a passion project.
However, we’re sure that the money certainly didn’t hurt in the end, most people don’t get paid millions for their passion projects, just saying.
Looks like we’ll have to wait on part 2 of the series, Shane is on his way to Jeffree’s yak ranch currently (at least in filming time) to discuss the pallette with him in person. Jeffree himself seemed overjoyed to be doing this documentary and seemed to jump at the chance to film with Shane again. We’ll see what the next installment brings. Stay tuned!!!
