Well, it took a while but Shane Dawson and partner Ryland Adams have announced that they’re having a baby! No, as far as we know they’re not married yet, they recently moved out of California and now that Shane has returned to his online career they announced over on Ryland’s channel that they will now be starting the process for surrogacy and having a child that way.
They talked about the ways that they would be filming once the child is born and obviously some things are going to change because Shane doesn’t want to do the family vlog channel thing, he says that he doesn’t want his child’s face online and he doesn’t want the possibility of them getting cancelled. “Cancel me, don’t cancel my baby!”
Shane Dawson having a baby?
Okay, we can honestly kind of respect that. It’s kind of a big decision when a prominent person decides to share not only their life but the life of their child, a person that didn’t ask to be brought into this kind of world, online.
Some people think nothing of it and think that family vlog channels are the way to go, but while that may be profitable for some families it’s not always a good thing because it not only opens up the parents, who are consenting adults, to negative comments and possible cancellation, it also opens up the children, who are young and who don’t really have a say in how their life is perceived, to the same type of scrutiny. No one needs that type of scrutiny at such a young age.
Of course, people’s opinions on the matter have started flying… even if it was a couple of days too late. One user tweeted, “Trisha Paytas and Shane Dawson reproducing in the same year? This is the worst timeline.” ouch!
Of course, there has been a lot of mention of Shane’s past in the post, including one particularly unsavory comment about the egg donor possibly being a cat (there was a really appalling rumor awhile back that Shane Dawson allegedly got with his cat… no it was not true. Even Shane Dawson has limits.), clearly those people have impeccable memories but may not realize that that is not scientifically possible, not to mention inhumane, and we’ll leave that there.
However, this now makes Shane’s new podcast that he is developing make total sense because filming a podcast is different from daily vlogging. Vlogging is where you share your life, podcasts are where you go and just talk about a designated topic, usually in a studio (though it can be from home) and usually, children are not a part of this process, though, depending on the host they might be mentioned every now and again. We’ll keep an eye on where this lands. Stay tuned!!!
