We were first introduced to the cast of Return to Amish ten years ago on TLC. The show followed four Amish and one Mennonite cast member as they left their friends and family to go to New York City to explore life away from the strict religious rules of their community.
This show gained quite the following and now that it has been quite some time since we have seen the cast, we wanted to know what happened to them and if they were back in their Amish communities or in the English world.
Return to Amish: An Update on the Cast
When Return to Amish premiered, it starred Abe Schucker, Jeremiah Raber, Kate Stolz, Sabrina High, and Rebecca Byler. The show went on for three more seasons and the stories of the cast began to develop more over the next few years. One of the most beloved cast members, Kate Stolz decided to leave the Amish life to see what the English world had to offer her.
Return to Amish: What Happened to the Cast?
She was an aspiring model and fashion designer and it looks as if her life has changed a lot since being on the show. When she went to New York, she attended fashion school in the city and went on to intern for Jason Wu and Cynthia Rowley. She launched her own clothing line as well. She may no longer be part of the Amish world, but she is still close to them.
Jeremiah Raber also became very popular after appearing on the show. He was the oldest cast member on the show and had a bad-boy reputation. He has three children from his first marriage and ended up marrying Carmela Raber, but we saw them break up and she eventually filed a restraining order against him. He ended up going on a hunt for his biological father but ended up finding out that he had died. He is living in Ohio now and it looks as if he is no longer part of the Amish faith.
Sabrina Burkholder joined the Mennonite religion when she was adopted from Puerto Rico. She had a really tough time on the show and even battled addiction. She almost died from heroin in 2018, but it looks as if she has been sober ever since. She now has four daughters and is living in Pennsylvania with her boyfriend.
Abe and Rebecca Schmucker ended up getting married and they joined a Christian church where the rules aren’t as strict as the Amish. They now have two children and live in Pennsylvania.
Fans of the show would like to see a reunion season, but we will just have to keep an eye on their Instagram accounts in the meantime.
