White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is stepping down from the position but says she will miss Fox News’ White House correspondent Peter Doocy once she’s gone. While it may seem strange to most people, as it turns out, Psaki believes they have a very good working relationship and that the conversations they have are crucial.
Psaki said about Doocy, “I will tell you, and people know this who are covering the White House every day, I think we have a very good, professional relationship.” She continued, “I understand that he’s coming there to ask questions every day that are important to report in the outlet he works for, and I respect that. We have healthy debates and discussions. Doesn’t mean I agree with his line of questioning on most days.”

The moments these two share together often go viral and show two sides to the story, and while we watch and probably assume they hate each other, it’s just political discourse, and at the end of the day they can still get along. Over the past 15 months they have had back-and-forths over tense issues and despite looking very frustrated with each other, they have both maintained a peaceful state of mind.
They had a moment where Doocy told Psaki he was said to see her go, to which she sarcastically responded, “are you?“. Doocy took a moment to tell her, “Yes. And you’ve always been a good sport. So, on behalf of everybody, thank you for everything.”
Psaki is set to have her final press briefing Friday and hasn’t announced what her next role will be though many reports say that she has accepted a job at MSNBC. Karine Jean-Pierre, President Joe Biden’s deputy press secretary, will replace her.
