The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, paid a surprise visit to Uvalde, Texas where the horrible shooting of 19 children and 2 adults just took place. She was photographed laying a bouquet of white roses at a memorial outside the Uvalde County Courthouse, not far from the scene of the senseless killings.
While she was there, she did not address the press, though it is unclear whether or not she was accompanied by a camera crew filming content for her deal with Netflix. A spokesperson for Netflix has yet to respond or comment on the situation.
Her visit was completely unannounced and came as a surprise to the town.
Meghan Markle Makes Surprise Visit To Uvalde TX – Was It Just For Netflix?
Gloria Contreras, a volunteer spoke to Markle during her trip and didn’t even realize who she was. Contreras spoke to BuzzFeed and said, “I had no idea who she was. She just was carrying on a conversation like her and I knew each other for years.” They also spoke about small town life, and Contreras even suggested that Markle move to Texas, “I even talked about my personal life, telling her about my son and my family and, you know, coming to Texas because she told me she was from Santa Barbara and I said, ‘Well, you need to come to Texas!”
Of course, Markle has gained a lot of press for this and people are questioning the “privacy” that she so desperately wanted. She seems to have no problem coming out in the limelight and even still uses her Royal title ‘Duchess of Sussex’ when cold-calling US politicians.
So, what this out of the goodness of her heart, or was she there to film for her upcoming Netflix deal and to get some eyes on her? Seems as though she’s using the tragedy as an opportunity for a photo shoot.
