As we all know pop star Britney Spears has been under a conservatorship for the past 13 years under the care and order of her Father Jamie Spears.

However, in a court statement she made in the last part of June she detailed to Judge Brenda Penny just how awful her life has been for the past 13 years and how she has been trying to quietly end the conservatorship for that long but until recently was ill-informed as to how to do that because her former lawyer, Samuel Ingham seemed a little too content to remain on the conservatorship’s payroll rather than actually do his due diligence for his client. (He was getting $10,000 a week so one can see where the dollar signs impeded things.)

    Will Britney finally be free?

After this impassioned plea, Judge Penny granted Britney the legal ability to hire her own lawyer outside of the conservatorship and now with her new legal counsel, Matthew Rosengart’s final plea, she could actually be seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

He has put in his final plea to judge Penny, saying that by no later than Sept 29th, that Jamie Spears needs to be suspended from the conservatorship. The court documents read, “The record is replete with overwhelming evidence mandating the immediate suspension of James P. Spears no later than Sept. 29th.”

Note that this wording does not necessarily state that she will not be under a conservatorship, but that the conservatorship will no longer be under her Father’s control, which, at this point even a small victory is good for Britney – but what about the papers that both Britney and Jamie filed stating that the conservatorship needs to end?

Were those just thrown out by the judge? Or are we waiting on an actual trial with an even bigger verdict. We’re all rooting for Britney to be free and be on her own and finally be an adult that’s in control of her own life – like she wants to be. But when is that actually going to happen?

We do have to applaud the fact that steps are being taken and they seem to be in the right direction, but one has to wonder just how much longer it’s going to be for the pop Princess to be her own person and what judge Penny’s verdict is going to be? Stay tuned!!!
